Description

This course develops an awareness of select issues in international education. Students will examine issues such as Pidgin and Standard English usage in schools in Hawai'i, single-sex schooling in the U.S. and the role of sport in higher education. The course also examines similarities and differences in educational values in the U.S. and other countries. Coursework emphasizes the development of critical thinking and visual literacy skills, along with academic reading, writing, and vocabulary development.
