Program Learning Outcomes:
Students who complete the Undergraduate Certificate in Data Science will be able to:
Use mathematical theory, especially linear algebra and statistics, for innovation in data science
Perform the six steps of data wrangling: discovery, structuring, cleaning, enriching, validating, and publishing
Write code in a programming language prominent in the field of data science, such as Python or R, to clean, analyze, visualize, and create models from data
Select statistical models and estimate coefficients and uncertainty measures
Distinguish three types of learning problems: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning
Select machine learning and deep learning models and implement their training algorithms
Implement training algorithms for machine learning and deep learning models
Create and present effective data visualizations
