Childhood and Poetry Workshop

This course is a poetry workshop in which students will develop a portfolio of about 25 poems on the subjects of childhood and identity. Students will become familiar with poetry writing techniques and how to teach them, the role of childhood in literature, and a number of well-known poets. Students will also become familiar with Romantic and other trends in poetry, and will apply techniques learned to their own poetry writing.
