Semantics

A study of the use of language to communicate meaning. Topics include: the nature of meaning, the semantic relationship between words, the way meaning is encoded in sentences, interpreting utterances in actual speech, morphemes, historical semantics, idioms, and figures of speech. Prerequisite: C- or better in AL 2000 or concurrent enrollment
