Health Information Systems

This course offers extensive hands-on experience with traditional software applications, with internet tools and electronic libraries to access reliable information, and with an electronic health record system. Students also learn how the use of technology has changed the health industry, customer expectations, as well as ethical and legal issues related to the electronic handling of health records. This course is valuable to all students, particularly those interested in fields of health science, or the business and information systems side of the health care industry.
