Course Description

This seminar familiarizes students with the challenges of counterterrorism and counterintelligence operations. The course focuses on both U.S. and foreign aspects of counterterrorism and counterintelligence, including their history and evolution, the principles and processes of each discipline, and the theory and processes associated with threat analysis.  Students will learn about counterterrorism and counterintelligence operations in the past, present, and future. Students will consider historical case studies of counterterrorism and counterintelligence operations and read and discuss major theorists and the observations of leading policy experts and practitioners. Course Restrictions: Graduate standing. Restricted to students pursuing a master’s degree in Diplomacy and Military Studies, Diplomacy and Global Security, a Certificate in National Security Studies, or a Certificate in Sustainability and Security Studies.
