Course Description

This course explores ethical norms around cybersecurity; covers relevant laws, regulations, and standards; and explains how organizations meet requirements to comply with them. We discuss how laws and technology intersect in the context of international, national, and local judicial structures, as organizations safeguard information systems from cyberattacks. Students will be introduced to professional codes of conduct and ethical standards, including breach notification requirements by state, national, and international governing authorities. Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in any WCIL 2 course or HON 1000
