Oceanographic Field Techniques

Course Description

An introduction to working safely and efficiently from a coastal research vessel. Topics include: maritime terminology, positioning and navigation, basic maritime weather, shipboard sampling, and measurement techniques. The course includes lectures and field sessions aboard the R/V Kaholo. Required for incoming freshmen and strongly recommended for transfer students. A $75 lab fee will apply for any in-person sections (excluding Military Campus programs).
