This micro-level course concentrates on the applied / practitioner's perspective of how to use administrative skills and methods needed to execute responsibilities successfully. It examines the latest health administration issues: human resource management, hospital committee structure, functions of the hospital board, trusteeship, systems control, utilization review, risk management, and DRG reimbursement. How to accomplish effective communication, cooperation, performance appraisals, conflict resolution, change management, and the negotiation process are explored.
