Description
This course explores ethical issues in public health policies, research, and practices. Students synthesize information from diverse sources including health data systems, legal documents, and media to elucidate ethical issues, evaluate implications and consequences of related actions, and explain individual perspectives and positions. Historical and contemporary case studies are employed to enhance student learning of the history and dimensions of public health ethics as an evolving field, while class discussions and group activities help students organize their thoughts and practice effectively communicating perspectives regarding controversial topics.
