It examines politics in democratic, democratizing, and authoritarian nations, and highlights issues such as governmental systems (parliamentary and presidential systems), types of electoral systems, unitary vs. federal states, political economy, social movements, and political change. It focuses on a broad political analysis of several countries in such regions as Asia, Europe and the Americas.
