Sociology of Child Maltreatment

An overview of the various forms of child maltreatment. The course includes recognition, reporting, legal response, treatment, and prevention of various forms of child abuse and neglect. Emphasis is placed on understanding the dynamics of abusive families and the role of the child protection worker.
