Research Experience in Marine Biology

In this capstone course for Marine Biology majors, students carry out a senior research project in an area of interest within marine science. Students will first participate in ecological field work on the univerity's research vessel, using a variety of instruments, and sampling devices. Students will then take the lead on a project of interest and develop a research plan to be carried out during the course. This investigation will include data and/or sample collection, data analyses, sunthesis of results within the context of the peer-reviewed literature, and communication of the results in a scientific paper and oral presentation. A $75 lab fee will apply for any in-person sections (excluding Military Campus programs).
