Description
This course is a continuation of MATH 3330. It is an advanced study of groups, rings and fields. Topics include principal ideal domains, unique factorization, Euclidean domains, polynomial rings, primitive roots, ideals in polynomial rings, finite fields, algebraic groups, group actions, and the Sylow theorems. Additional topics include applications to coding theory and cryptography.
